Freedom is what Martin Luther King fought for. Harriet Truman did not succumb to her state but rather move to fight for freedom. Every decision is born first in the mind. Mankind is born with the fight or flight instinct, resurrected in the mind. You are what you are in your mind first. Transfer your mind and change your current state.
Mind Take: “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2
As an individual who realizes that I am in the world but not of the world, in other words, I have a dual citizenship. This allows me to gleam from the benefits of the worlds, earthly, secular world and heavenly, invincible spiritual kingdom. To be whole I must accept my God given authority and abilities from both. Utilizing the composition that I am made of, you see I am, we are, both fleshy and spirit causes me to see beyond what I don’t see, knowing that the influence that I can’t see are fought by the invincible world and the only thing I contribute is my faith, my belief in its existence, any who, moving on.
Dr. Phil’s incredible Life Law #2: “You create your own experience” are in sync with biblical truths and forms a basses for eradicating a victim mentality. Citation of his strategy are simple and practical and is reflected in this piece.
Strategy: Acknowledge and accept accountability for your life. Understand your role in creating results.
Mind Take: “Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed. Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” Hebrews 12:12-15
You cannot dodge responsibility for how and why your life is the way it is. If you don’t like your job, you are accountable. If you are overweight, you are accountable. If you are not happy, you are accountable. You are creating the situations you are in and the emotions that flow from those situations.
Mind Take: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2
Don’t play the role of victim, or use past events to build excuses. It guarantees you no progress, no healing, and no victory. You will never fix a problem by blaming someone else. Whether the cards you’ve been dealt, good or bad, you’re in charge of yourself now.
Mind Take: “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead..” Philippians 3:13
Every choice you make — including the thoughts you think — has consequences. When you choose the behavior or thought, you choose the consequences. If you choose to stay with a destructive partner, then you choose the consequences of pain and suffering. If you choose thoughts contaminated with anger and bitterness, then you will create an experience of alienation and hostility. When you start choosing the right behavior and thoughts — which will take a lot of discipline — you’ll get the right consequences.
Mind Take: “But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.” Philippian’s 1:12-14
Mind Take Away: A lowly state in life is no implication of who I say I am or whose I am. Mind life is healthy and looks and creates opportunity, allowing me to fiercely take on challenges, not to just benefit me, but to pull my brothers along and give them a hand up, yes I am my brother’s keeper. If you
feel the same way, post a biblical truth from a mind perspective.
